EDN Co-Production Consultations at Marché du Film 2018

EDN will this year once again be part of the Doc Corner at Marché du Film in Cannes. As was the case last year, EDN will be organizing the 'Doc Corner Talks' providing insights by decision makers, distributors, sales agents and other professionals from all across the documentary industry. EDN staff members will further be available onsite to provide consultations on documentary co-production opportunities.
Marché du Film is the film market of the Cannes Film Festival that annually attracts more than 10,000 participants who use this environment to debut and discover almost 4,000 films and projects in 34 screening rooms. EDN will be present at the Doc Corner of the market to provide consultations on documentary co-production opportunities. At this year's seventh edition, EDN will again be hosting the Doc Corner Talks consisting of daily presentations and discussions around three main themes related to the documentary industry.
In one of these talks, EDN Director Paul Pauwels will be presenting interim results of EDN's Media & Society initative, a project aiming to draft policy recommendations for the future of the documentary sector.
Doc Corner Talks
Doc Corner Talks is a themed presentation and discussion platform featuring documentary professionals with special expertise and credentials in the discussed subject areas. The 2018 edition will feature the following Doc Talks:
Saturday May 12th - 5.30pm-6.30pm - Doc Corner
VR. Challenging the Boundaries of Documentary.

Sunday May 13th - 5.30pm-7.00pm. - Doc Corner
Media and Society - Documentary in a Changing Media Landscape
Presentation of the interim results of the 'Media and Society' survey and the local meeting moments. The session is hosted by Paul Pauwels. Following the presentation, there will be a cocktail sponsored by la Scam (7.00pm-8.30pm).
Monday May 14th - 5.30pm- 6.30pm - Doc Corner
Documentary Festivals: Drivers of Innovation or Keepers of the Tradition
Participants: Orwa Nyrabia (IDFA), Tine Fisher (CPH:DOX), Leena Pasanen ( DOK Leipzig), Emilie Bujès (Visions du Réel), moderation by Paul Pauwels.
Doc Corner Services
Among the services of the Doc Corner are:
• A space dedicated to documentary cinema that will facilitate networking between documentary filmmakers and professionals in Cannes
• A possibility for festival programmers, sales agents and buyers specialized in documentary, to reserve a work space including different facilities

The Doc Corner consultation takes place from Friday thru Sunday (10 - 12 May). On each day the consultations will take place between 11.00 and 12:00. Individual meetings will have a maximum duration of 15 minutes and can be booked onsite, one day prior to the meeting — the service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. EDN will be present at the market and the Doc Corner. Consultations about international co-production and financing opportunities are available within the framework of the Doc Corner sessions and also alongside the market activities. Please note that registrations for the onsite meetings have to be arranged directly via the Doc Corner at Marché du Film.
