Get an introduction to the Co-production landscape in Europe, hear experiences from other producers and share your own experiences with your colleagues.
Earlier this year we launched THE EDN CO-PRODUCTION GUIDE. The information is provided by experienced producers in 30 European countries and have information about co-produced titles, funding amounts, producers, guidelines and requirements from film funds etc.
At the Co-producers Summit EDN Head of Studies and editor of THE EDN CO-PRODUCTION GUIDE, Mikael Opstrup, will give a rundown of the most important conclusions regarding co-production in Europe based on the info collected in the Guide. We will also go through a few countries as examples.
And most important: the meeting is as a possibility to share updated information regarding co-production from the producers present - including yourself. The sharing of information is a very important part of the meeting.
Open for European and non European producers interested in collaboration with European production companies. A FORUM accreditation is required.
Six Part Series for Children: Ultra Sport Kids
15.50 - 16.10. The FORUM, Zuilen Zall, Compagnietheater, Kloveniersburgwal 50. Ultra Sport Kids is a series of 6 high-end documentary films for kids, featuring 6 kids, 6 sports, 6 countries, and 6 dreams. The films are directed by Victor Kossakovsky (RU), Simon Lereng Wilmont (DK) Hanna Heilborn (SE), Ania Winiarska (SE/PO) and Erlend E. Mo (NO).
Through children's perspective, each film tells exciting, dramatic and engaging real life stories from the world of sport with all the challenges it may bring. Each film is looking at relationships and issues like parent pressure, sacrifices, friendship, gender related issues and so on. These are subject matters that most children around the world can relate to and are likely to have experienced for themselves at some point in their life. o ignored

The Future of Documentary for Kids: RealYoung
16:15 – 17:00 The FORUM, Zuilen Zall, Compagnietheater, Kloveniersburgwal 50.
Documentaries for a young audience are offering filmmakers an endless number of playful possibilities. But also a number of challenges. How can we stimulate documentaries for young audiences in different countries? What are the structures when it comes to production and distribution? What are the undiscovered possibilities to cooperate when it comes to financing? How can producers and directors anticipate on an audience who is consuming large amounts of screen content on multiple platforms and no longer watch television in a traditional way? o ignored
Joining forces to lift documentaries for kids and young audiences to the next level, RealYoung is a new collaboration between IDFA, EDN - European Documentary Network and The Financing Forum for Kids Content. This event will shed light on the challenges of co-production and distribution of documentaries for young audiences and a following event in March in Malmö will focus on innovative, in-depth project development.
