MOST IMPORTANT NATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

The Television Fund:

  1. A) Automatic Scheme: Delegate producer needs to be French & there are minimum demands for the involvement of a French broadcaster (cash investment 12.000 Euro per minute +25 % of the French part of the financing).

  2. B) Selective Scheme: A score table regarding the French or European creative and technical involvement must be met

The Cinema Fund: Very selective but can be applied by both producers and writers/directors directly, coming from as well France as another European country.

For both funds the French producer needs to contribute with a financing share of the full budget of no less than 30%.

OTHER FUNDS THAT FUNDED CO-PRODUCTIONS

CNC holds a number of other funds with very different guidelines and focus.

Most important is The World Cinema Support, a new fund dedicated to co-productions of foreign origin: director, shooting location and language must be from outside France. Supports pre- (max. 250.000 Euro) and post-production (max 60.000 Euro). 50-75% of the funding must be spent by the French Co-producer.

There are 34 regional & local funds accessible with a French co-producer only.
