EDN discount for the European Media Executive Leadership Programme @ etma
The Strasbourg based etma is offering EDN members a 500 Euro discount on their 2010 European Media Executive Leadership Management Programme. The programme is designed to develop strategic leadership and management skills and to better meet the challenges of the evolving global marketplace.
European Media Executive Leadership Management Programme (EMELP) 2010 programme is both a strategic and interpersonal leadership development experience. It is a five day course that offers a blend of disciplined exposure to high-level industry specific information. Specific case studies will translate management and leadership development into applied, real situations in the industry. The course includes a rigorous pre-course preparation process, including reading and evaluation, as well as follow-up activities at the one-month, three-month and six-month stage.
Participants will get a ‘work-out’ of their strategic leadership skills, as well they will be armed with several practical tools and resources to apply immediately back in the workplace. Next, they will be guided through a deep introspection of their own strengths and areas needing improvement in the personal and interpersonal leadership practices.
The focus of the experience will be on:
• strategic thinking and planning
• understanding the changing world of television & multiplatform media, plus the application of appropriate leadership practices for this environment
• branding and market positioning
• personal leadership style
• human resources, change & innovation leadership
• integrating television & media industry processes
• building asset value through sustainable strategy, alliances, mergers & acquisitions

Day 3: Application Practice
Day 4: A Focus on Creativity and Innovation Leadership
Day 5: Case Study Application & Learning Implementation Plans
The programme will draw on extensive international industry expertise in its core faculty and the guest executives. It has been conceived and will be run by Mr. Doug Macnamara and Mr. Pat Ferns. Mr. Macnamara has been a senior executive in several Canadian companies and one post-secondary institution, and has had to steer these organizations through very challenging times. Pat Ferns is an veteran, who has been a world leader in international co-production, hosts pitching events on six continents, and has been an industry builder both in Canada and abroad.
EMELP is taking place on June 16 -21, 2010 in Strasbourg.
