The workshop organisation Aristoteles invites you to the 5th edition of its documentary film workshop, opened to creative documentary filmmakers, DPs, editors and producers from Central and Eastern Europe. The application deadline is May 31st, 2010 .

Aristoteles is looking for young people with talent, passion, commitment, a voice of their own, and, above all, capacity for teamwork. The courses are designed for young filmmakers with previous film and/or video experience. The programme is co-financed by the French-German TV Channel ARTE.

During the workshop, the students will work in teams, being guided through each and every step of the documentary production. While the emphasis will be mainly on content, the workshop will also cover the latest High Definition TV technologies and techniques.

The workshop is focusing on professional training that encourages the independent spirit, innovation, and creative risk-taking. The content of the workshop is provided by leaders in the documentary field, who will help the participants translate their own ideas into finished documentaries.

The workshop is structured as follows:

Stage 1: Training Narrative style & strategies. Director’s perspective of development. Camera, light, sound. Visual approach, planning & production schedule.
