Open Call for FreshPitch 2017, EDN to Support with Industry Expertise
FreshPitch 2017 is the second edition of China's documentary content pitching forum focusing on media convergence and the crossing of industries. The forum is attracting documentary talents, financiers and industry professionals from across the globe with the aim to bring inspiring and promising docs projects to the market. FreshPitch recently launched a call for projects which is open for international submissions. The submission deadline is 30 April 2017.
Following last year's succesful launch of FreshPitch, the upcoming second edition will once again see documentary professionals from all over the world gathering in Dongshan (Suzhou, China) from May 31 - June 4, 2017. FreshPitch aims to explore creativity within documentary content and brings together a variety of leading and innovative players from China and the international documentary sector.
The international decision makers to be invited include representatives from convergence media (e.g. BBC, NHK, New York Times, The Guardian, CNN, The Discovery Channel), innovative content platforms (e.g. Netflix, Youtube, Facebook, Oculus) and industry platforms (e.g. HotDocs Canadian International Documentary Festival, IDFA — the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam). Moreover, telecom operators and mobile phone manufacturers will be invited together with big shots from the fields of real estate, public relations and advertising.
EDN will support the initiative through providing documentary industry advice and expertise. EDN Film & Media Consultant Ove Rishøj Jensen will act as industry advisor during the event. With this collaboration, EDN contributes to bringing documentary professionals and key industry players to China.
