Nordisk Film & TV Fond Announces Support for Five Feature Documentaries

Five feature-length documentaries are among the funding recipients recently announced by Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The fund aims to support film and TV productions of high quality in the five Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). The supported films include the title 'Once Aurora', a documentary project co-developed at EDN's co production workshop "Twelve for the Future".

The total budget for the next round of projects to be backed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond adds up to over NOK 6 million (€600,000). The sum is spent on support for seven feature length films and two initiatives and events, as outlined in a recent news release by Cineuropa. Among the supported films are the following documentaries: Exit, directed by Karen Winther (production: Eirin Gjørv, Sant & Usant, Norway), Jozi Gold, directed by Fredrik Gertten (production: Margarete Jangård, WG Film, Sweden) and Once Aurora, directed by Benjamin Langeland and Stian Servoss (production: Thorvald Nilsen, Flimmer Film, Norway). The project Once Aurora, which explores the changes that Norwegian teen pop star 'Aurora' went through over the past years, previously participated in the EDN co-production workshop Twelve for the Future.

Established in 1990, and based in Oslo, Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s primary purpose is to promote film and TV productions of high quality in the five Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden), by providing support for top-up financing of feature films, TV-fiction/drama-series and creative documentaries. Nordisk Film & TV Fond is also secretariat to the prestigious Nordic Council Film Prize and arranges and hosts the annual event Nordic Talents held in Copenhagen each autumn.
