Keeping Track of Corona Support Measures
Over the past months, several organisations in Europe have committed themselves to keeping track of support measures for employees of the film sector, whose businesses are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Especially the EFAD (European Film Agency Directors), the European Audiovisual Observatory and film-related magazines, such as Cineuropa, offer meticoulously updated overviews of support initiatives sorted by country.
When the audiovisual sector was confronted with the consequences of the Corona pandemic ealier this year, it quickly became obvious that the outbreak bears severe implications for a majority of the players operating in the sector. For many, the impact of COVID-19 has become a considerable threat, to the extent that they cannot sustain their work in the film industry without the help of suitable financial support schemes.
Since then, quite a few support packages have been implemented on different levels of the EU and its member states, including a number of film-specific actions aiming to support companies and individuals working within the value chain of the audiovisual sector. In addition to each EU member state's own support initiatives for employees of different trades and industry branches, it is helpful to access sources listing those support measures that are specifically geared towards employees working in the European Audiovisual Sector. For this reason we have once again compiled an overview of links that allow for quickly locating available support for individuals and companies working in specific countries.
