Tribeca Film Festival
Submission deadline: 02/12 – 2019. Festival: April 15 – 26, 2020
The Tribeca Film Festival helps filmmakers reach the broadest possible audience, enabling the international film community and general public to experience the power of cinema and promote New York City as a major filmmaking center. It is well known for being a diverse international film festival that supports emerging and established directors. Founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 following the attacks on the World Trade Center, to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of the lower Manhattan district through an annual celebration of film, music and culture, the Festival brings the industry and community together around storytelling.

DocsBarcelona Film Festival
Submission deadline: 05/12 – 2019. Festival: May 20 – 30, 2020
DocsBarcelona International Documentary Film Festival is a festival specialized in the documentary genre, consisting of competitive international sections, non-competitive sections and master classes. All of the films that make up the different sections will be selected by an international programmers committee. DocsBarcelona has been an international meeting place for the documentary field for the past 10 years. A marketplace for the industry and a point of encounter for the public, where viewers come into contact with films and directors.

Kyiv International Film Festival

Submission deadline: 09/12 – 2019. Festival: May 22 –25, 2020

Every year the festival presents over 250 films from all over the world. Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist is held in Kyiv annually during the last week of October. The Festival is a legal entity belonging to the Union of Filmmakers of Ukraine. The festival’s competition program consists of sections of student films, first short film (fiction film, animation, documentary) and first full-length fiction film.

Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is North America's largest documentary festival. Each year, the festival presents a selection of more than 100 documentaries from Canada and around the globe.

Moscow International Documentary Film Festival DOKer

Submission deadline: 31/12 – 2019. Festival: June 24 –30, 2020
Moscow International Documentary Film Festival DOKer has stemmed from the project of the same name which screens independent non-fiction. DOKer project is aimed at analyzing and screening in Russia various genres and forms of the world's documentaries as a separate line of cinema in all its esthetic and socio-cultural diversity.

Doc Edge

Submission deadline: 31/12 – 2019. Festival: May 28 – June 21, 2020
Documentary Edge Festival (DEF) is Australasia's premiere international competitive documentary film festival and the only dedicated annual international documentary film festival held in New Zealand. DEF runs in Auckland and Wellington and includes a Gala Awards, Q & A sessions with filmmakers, special events and more. Alongside the Festival Doc Edge run other activities including Docs for Schools and the industry gathering Screen Edge Forum.
