Eight Inspiring Documentary Projects Selected for dok.incubator 2017

06.04.2017

The final selection of projects to take part in this year's edition of dok.incubator has recently been announced by the dok.incubator team. The line-up, consisting of eight ambitious and promising documentary titles, also includes four projects that are being produced by EDN members.

Over the Limit directed by Marta Prus
and produced by EDN member Maciej Kubicki

The rough-cut stage workshop dok.incubator will launch it's next edition in May featuring three workshop sessions taking place in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden. The programme offers individual mentorship for selected documentary projects with a focus on dramaturgy, distribution and audience building. The dok.incubator team has recently announced the final line-up of projects that will take part in the next edition of the workshop programme.

The range of topics represented by the selected projects includes, among others, an intimate portrait of a great rhythmic gymnast in Russia during her career break, a portrait that illustrates the inner workings and structure of the Russian sports system (Over the Limit by Marta Prus and Maciej Kubicki). The Norwegian project Golden Dawn Girls by director Håvard Bustnes and producer Christian Falch shows how representatives of the third largest political party in Greece get thrown in jail for allegedly leading a criminal organization. Events in Ydre, produced by Malla Grapengiesser, tells the story of one of Sweden’s smallest rural municipalities and a way of life that is threatened by depopulation. In My Marish, director Bernadette Tuza-Ritter describes the story of rebellion of a modern day slave, who decided to fight for her dream. The intimate portrait is Tuza-Ritter's first feature-length documentary that is being realized with the support of experienced producer Julianna Ugrin.
