Sheffield Doc/Fest: Mini-MeetMarket Open For Entries
During this year's Sheffield Doc/Fest in June, the "Mini-MeetMarket" will provide a unique opportunity for new and emerging documentary filmmakers to meet executive producers and pitch their ideas in an intimate roundtable environment. Submissions for the Mini-MeetMarket are now open and will be accepted until Tuesday, 5th of May 2015 (17h00 GMT).
The aim of "Mini-MeetMarket" is simple: to enable participating producers to get feedback on a documentary idea by industry execs and to help the project move forward. Participants will get a response on how the pitch had been perceived as well as pointers on how it needs developing, where to go next, and how to improve chances of getting funding.
Mini-MeetMarket is open to submissions from new and emerging directors and producers with a documentary or factual project for any or many platforms. Getting the right executive producer on board is for many filmmakers the first big step toward getting their film made. If a project is selected, producers will attend a one-hour plenary session with a top pitch trainer, followed by a two-hour roundtable session with two execs who have been matched to the participant and his idea. Up to 30 projects will be selected to take part in this event, and the successful projects will be notified by 19th May 2014.
Further details about this pitching and steering session (incl. application guidelines) are available on the Mini-MeetMarket webpage.
Reminder: The application deadline is Tuesday, 5th of May 2015 (17h00 GMT)
