EDN Networking Dinner @ Berlinale 2019

EDN is organising a networking dinner in connection with the Berlinale and European Film Market in Berlin. All EDN members are invited to participate in the dinner. Please sign up no later than Wednesday, February 6th at noon. EDN is inviting all members, who are present at the Berlinale and the EFM - European Film Market, to join our upcoming EDN networking dinner in Berlin. The intention is to have an informal dinner where you can meet other EDN members, network and share a good meal together.
Alternate Realities Talent Market
Deadline: 11/2 - 2019. Event dates: June 10 – 12, 2019
The Alternate Realities Talent Market exists to foster collaborations between creatives and organizations focused on using digital technologies to push storytelling in exciting new directions. The market is for discussing new projects that are interactive, immersive, virtual reality, augmented reality, web-doc, games, 360-video, live performance, motion comic, room-scale experience and/or installation. Selected artists and creative teams will be connected with industry Decision Makers from tech companies, funding bodies, NGOs, broadcasters, international festivals, galleries, production companies and distribution platforms for new media.
Creative Producing Fellowship
Deadline: 12/2 - 2019. Event dates: July 29 – August 2, 2019
A year-long program designed to nurture emerging producers with project-specific support through the Creative Producing Lab, Creative Producing Summit, Sundance Film Festival attendance, year-round mentorship from industry mentors, and ongoing support from Sundance Institute Staff. Lab: July 29 - August 2, 2019. Summit: August 2 - 4, 2019. Festival: January 23 - February 2, 2020
Hot Docs Deal Maker
Deadline: 14/2 - 2019. Event dates: April 30 – May 2, 2019
Hot Docs Deal Maker is a one-on-one pitch-meeting program for producers seeking financing from the international marketplace. Hot Docs Deal Maker will select 50 of the most compelling projects submitted for these valuable meetings with key decision makers, commissioning editors and other film financers, as well as substantial online profile and promotion.

Creative Europe - Development: Slate Funding
Deadline: 20/2 - 2019. Event dates: –
The purpose of the scheme is to increase the capacity of film producers to develop European Audiovisual works with a potential to circulate in the Union and beyond, and to facilitate European and international co-production. This scheme supports proposals to develop a Single Project or a Slate of 3 to 5 projects (Slate Funding) intended primarily for cinema release, television broadcasting or commercial exploitation on digital platforms in the following categories: animation, creative documentary and fiction.

One World Media Awards

Established in 1988, the One World Media Awards recognize the best media coverage of the developing world, reflecting the social, political and cultural life of people around the globe. The Awards highlight the unique role of journalists and filmmakers in bridging the divide between cultures worldwide and raising awareness of underreported issues and stories. The One World Media Awards span 15 categories, celebrating work from all media platforms and across a wide range of genres.

World Cinema Fund - Production

The World Cinema Fund works to develop and support cinema in regions with a weak film infrastructure, while fostering cultural diversity in German cinemas. The World Cinema Fund supports films that could not be made without additional funding: films that stand out with an unconventional aesthetic approach, that tell powerful stories and transmit an authentic image of their cultural roots. Maximum funding: 80,000 euro per project. The funding amount cannot exceed 50% of the total production costs. The total production costs of the supported projects should lie between 200,000 euro and 1,400,000 euro. The funding must be spent on the production of the film in the aforementioned regions.
