Creative Europe: Distribution - Automatic Support

Distribution - Automatic Support aims to support the wider transnational distribution of recent European films by providing funds to distributors, based on their performance in the market, for further reinvestment in new non-national European films.Furthermore to encourage the development of links between production and distribution sectors to improve the competitive position of non-national European films and the competitiveness of European companies.

IDFA DocLab 2018 & IDFA Forum for International Co-financing
IDFA DocLab deadline: 1/8 – 2018. Event dates: November 14 – 25, 2018
IDFA Forum deadline: 15/8 - 2018. Event dates: November 18 – 21, 2018
IDFA DocLab is open to all sorts of works that use new media to represent reality, ranging from digital non-fiction storytelling and art to physical installations, virtual reality experiences, live performance and multimedia projects. The FORUM is IDFA's international co-financing market for documentaries and Europe's largest gathering of filmmakers, television commissioning editors, and independent documentary producers. By offering different pitch setups and giving extra focus to specific genres, the Forum gives room to the rich variety of the documentary genre.
Hot Docs-Blue Ice Film Documentary Fund

The Hot Docs-Blue Ice Group Documentary Fund helps enable more African documentary filmmakers to tell stories and contribute to a new generation of the African documentary community. In 2016, the Fund was renewed with an additional $1.25 million CAD, bringing the total investment to $2.35 million.The Fund provides development grants of up to 10,000 CAD and production grants of up to $40,000 CAD to four to 10 projects annually. Each year, up to five funded projects are also invited to participate in a year-long mentorship program, along with private filmmaker labs at Hot Docs and the Durban FimMart/Durban International Film Festival.

Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund

Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund was set up in honor of one of Mexico’s greatest photographers from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema, who, through his chiaroscuro renderings of landscapes and people, evoked an intimate and endearing Mexico whose personages left a lasting imprint on our country’s movie screens (...) Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund accepts submissions from films that are in development, which are co-produced by Mexico, USA or Canada; TV Series in Development produced in Latin America; works in progress that are feature-length films in post-production that are produced or co-produced in Mexico.

EAVE Producers Workshop 2019

EAVE, European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, is one of the leading training and development providers for producers in Europe, renowned for its EAVE Producers Workshop.EAVE is aimed at producers, both fiction and documentary, who are already working in the film and television industries who wish to begin to operate on a European wide basis by increasing their knowledge of producing and co-producing in Europe and by building up a pan European professional network. We also welcome applications from associated branches of the industry – e.g. commissioning, funding, legal and finance, festivals & markets, media administration. Each year fifty participants are selected from most of the EU countries and beyond and take part in three one-week long workshops. Workshop 1 in Luxembourg (LU), March 8 - 15, 2019; Workshop 2 in Serbia (RS), June, 2019; Workshop 3 in Leipzig (DE), October, 2019.
