Apply for the Docu Rough Cut Boutique
The idea behind the Balkan Documentary Center’s Docu Rough Cut Boutique is to offer five projects from the region tailor-made coaching. This includes experts’ advice and access to decision-makers, who can have crucial influence on moving the projects forward. The application deadline is 30th June 2014.
The 4th Docu Rough Cut Boutique is organized by the Balkan Documentary Center and Sarajevo Film Festival and takes place on August 18-22, 2014 in connection with the festival in Sarajevo.
The program runs in six group and 20 one-to-one sessions. Each session is by a new tutor, coming from either film directing, producing, commissioning or festival programming background while the two moderating tutors are with the participants for the whole duration of the workshop. One of the tutors for this edition will be EDN Director Paul Pauwels.
The second part of the 6th session is reserved for a master-class on film marketing, promotional strategic planning, incl. questions on festival scheduling, TV sales/offers, approaching and working with a distributor/sales agent/broadcaster and many others.
As a new addition the rough cut boutique offer all five projects a one-year mentoring process with three Skype sessions and one personal meeting at a convenient film festival/market within 12 months after the workshop.
Docu Rough Cut Boutique is open for film projects by authors from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Moldova.
Projects accepted for the program have to be:
- • feature-length documentary films (60 min and more)
- • in a rough cut stage
- • relevant for the international and regional market.
