AniDox:Lab 2016: Call for Applications
AniDox: Lab is an international professional training programme which is supported by Creative Europe/MEDIA and consists of a series of seminars run by The Animation Workshop, DK. AniDox: Lab has now launched an open call aimed at animation directors, documentarians and creative producers. AniDox is looking for applications related to projects in development, creative research and for forming new collaborations. The application deadline is 1 January 2016.
AniDox: Lab fosters a unique creative dialog between documentary and animation: it brings together documentarians and animation film directors in order to maximize their artistic capacity and develop their respective projects, for creative research and forming new collaborations. Through a series of professional seminars, AniDox: Lab offers talented documentary and animation filmmakers the opportunity to engage and combine their two worlds. The coaching seminars and collaborative workshops are designed to progress from fine-tuning an initial idea, through narrative and visual development, to pitching sessions at prestigious partner festvials.
AniDox:Lab is designed for and open to Animation Film directors, Documentary Film Directors, and creative producers from mainly the 27 Member States of the European Union, from the EEA members (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and from Croatia. From 2015 on, AniDox: Lab may also accept a small percentage of non-EU citizens.
Filmmakers applying for AniDox:Lab are expected to have previous experience in Animation or Documentary Filmmaking.
AniDox: Lab is organized in collaboration with CPH:DOX, Dok Leipzig, Nordisk Panorama and The Danish/Swedish Film Institutes. Now in its 4th year, AniDox brings together documentarians and Animation directors and helps them share their knowledge while developing their animated documentary projects.
About The Animation Workshop
The Animation Workshop is a 25 year-old animation film school located in Viborg, Denmark. A part of VIA University College’s School of Creative Industries, it is Denmark’s leading animation institution, with activities in the areas of education, culture, communication and business. To this effect it benefits from a strong network of international artists, studios/companies, funding institutions and partner schools. After an intense period of development over the last 10 years, The Animation Workshop is now composed of 7 distinct and vibrantly interconnected departments: the Bachelor of Arts in Character Animation and CG Art, the brand new Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Storytelling, Professional Training, the Drawing Academy, the Open Workshop (artist residencies), the Centre for Education and Animation and the Arsenal – a cluster of established companies and an incubation house for newly started companies
