Join the Doc Hothouse webdoc lab
During Doc Hothouse participants will discover how to blast their interactive documentary idea into the market and develop their project to a successful webdoc. Doc Hothouse takes places in Ghent, Belgium, October 10 – 12, 2013.
Doc Hothouse is a three-day development lab where participants can build their interactive web documentary idea into a technically strong concept, supported by a tight business model and distribution strategy.
The best ideas will be developed to projects ready for production. The primary goal of Doc Hothouse is to help participants find a commercial strategy and business model and to help them to get financial support for their research. This is done through several methods such as lateral thinking and brainstorming sessions, individually and via group sessions.
The highlight of Doc Hothouse is a pitching session where the teams present their projects to each other and to the mentors. The teams receive useful feedback on the creative and business potential of their ideas and how to get funding for their research.
During Doc Hothouse participants will learn:
The new features of convergent cross platform markets;
A framework in which they can analyze the strengths and weaknesses of their project to develop a strong strategy;
Which professionals from other sectors (eg accounting, technical, ...) they should talk to;
To experiment with new business models;
IP and contractual issues;
Business development analysis;
Registration fee for the lab is € 350 for the full three days. Deadline for the Early Bird ticket (€ 280) is September 10.
Participation fees include coffee breaks and lunches. This doesn’t include travel & accommodation.
Doc Hothouse is organized by iDROPS and MEDIA desk Belgium and is part of the WebDoX trajectory.
