Nordic Impact Workshop 2019 Part I

February 24-26, 2019. Helsinki, Finland.

The Nordic Impact workshops are part of "DocPoint Impact", an initiative creating visibility, appreciation and new audiences for creative documentary films. This first edition of the impact workshop is organized by the DocPoint society in collaboration with Nordisk Panorama and EDN - European Documentary Network.

The DocPoint IMPACT initiative trains documentary film makers on impact production through dedicated workshops. The participating projects are pitched publicly at the DocPoint IMPACT Day and are still works-in-progress, focusing on current social, structural, environmental or ethical issues. These issues will benefit from joint problem solving, as well as constructive discussion and debate. Solving these issues will not only be beneficial for the parties involved but for society as a whole. The training deals with the principle of impact production in film projects in an early phase, so that it becomes an organic part of the production.

The mentors and workshop trainers of DocPoint IMPACT 2019 are Anna J. Ljungmark from Sweden and Ove Rishøj Jensen from Denmark.

Anna Ljungmark has been part of the film industry since 1994, mainly working as producer but also as a commissioning editor. Since 10 years she is a pioneer within new media and have founded ground-breaking arenas such as BoostHbg and SWIM. She is currently involved in several projects as a creative producer and as a strategist, with clients such as The Swedish Film Institute, artist duo Lundahl & Seitl and BritDoc/ Good Pitch. Anna is found at the Copenhagen office as well as at House of Real Sweden, based in Malmö.

Ove Rishøj Jensen has programmed a large number of workshops, development programs and pitching forums at EDN. This includes initiatives with a focus on new media, impact and distribution, project development and dramaturgy. He has also been in charge of collaborations with the European Film Market/Berlinale, Sunny Side of the Doc, Cinema Verité Tehran, Fresh Pitch China, Getting Real and IDFA. In addition he has collaborated with a large number of documentary organisations and festivals with tailor made sessions and special industry events.
