European VOD Meetings Workshop in Venice 2019
September 2, 2019. Venice, Italy.
EDN will participate in the second edition of the European VoD Meetings Workshop, which takes place from 2-5 September in Venice, Italy. EDN Content and Partnerships Manager Laimis Zelnys will represent EDN as a speaker at the opening session on 2nd September.
The European VoD Meetings (EVODM) is the first European professional training especially conceived for the Video on Demand sector. It is organised by EuroVoD and co-funded by the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme. The upcoming workshop in Venice is part of the second edition of the initiative.
The goal of the training is to reinforce the competitiveness of the European VoD platforms, preserving the richness of the cultural diversity of their catalogue, through the transmission of know-how and peer-to-peer learning, by fostering the implementation of innovative projects, producing an updated and comprehensive analysis of the needs of the sector and its opportunities. It further aims to stimulate a better comprehension of the dynamics that could influence the circulation of European, Arthouse and independent films in Europe and elsewhere.
The training is born from the urgency of the European VoD platforms to network and benchmark, fostering the dialogue within the chain of rights and with the service providers, feeding an economy of knowledge for the benefit of the entire industry and, especially, European creativity. Video on Demand is a young sector with an industry based on innovation which constantly requires new insights, especially regarding aspects like transparency, communication, data analysis, cooperation, trending topics of the business, development of new projects and the acquisition of technical, artistic, marketing, trading and management tools.
