Meet the Docs at European Film Market 2017

For the ninth time EFM and EDN are organising Meet the Docs at the European Film Market. It is a market service targeting everyone with an interest in the documentary genre. The online registration deadline for EFM is January 6th, 2017.
Meet the Docs is an EFM market service for documentary professionals or professionals wanting to work with documentary. The umbrella stand will facilitate documentary sellers, buyers, programmers, producers and directors with meeting facilities, match making, networking and market information and serve as a network space and meeting point dedicated to documentary. In 2017, EDN will continue to have daily strands at the sessions Meet the Distributors, Meet the Festivals and Meet the Docs.
Please note that there is no separate registration procedure for the Meet the Docs initiative as this is an integrated service of the EFM. Here you can read about the registration for EFM.
All services offered by Meet the Docs are free of charges for EFM badge holders.
The Meet the Docs services include:
- - Individual consultations: EDN experts provide individual consultation on your documentary project
- - Networking and meeting place: A dedicated networking and meeting area for documentary professionals
- - Information tools: with lists of documentaries at the Berlinale and EFM, Buyers list, etc
- - Daily information sessions: Meet the Distributors & Meet the Festivals on the central market days
- - Daily Meet the Docs Talks: Special guests discuss key issues. Presented by IFP, Sundance and EDN on the central market days
- - Daily Networking Drinks: American Independents and Meet the Docs offer networking drinks on the central days of the market
Meet the Docs locations at the EFM
The Meet the Docs umbrella stand will be located at Martin-Gropius-Bau, the main building of the EFM at stand number: 201 (2nd floor). If you need to call the Meet the Docs stand, the direct phone number is: – 446
Some of the networking sessions will take place at The EFM White Room located at the top floor of the Martin-Gropius-Bau building.

Meet the Festivals:
Meet the Festivals gives you direct access to top doc festival programmers and market representatives with the opportunity to book short meetings to discuss your project one-on-one. The sessions take place at the Meet the Docs stand. Each market participant can book up to 3 meetings in advance at . Additional meetings on-site are based on availability and can be booked at the Meet the Docs stand.

Meet the Docs Talks is presented by IFP, Sundance and EDN on the central market days and features a joint panel series organized in collaboration between the EFM initiatives Meet the Docs and American Independents in Berlin. Join documentary professionals from both sides of the pond to discuss the differences between the US and the European documentary markets.
