Winners of CPH:DOX 2013
This weekend the Copenhagen documentary festival CPH:DOX celebrated this year's festival winners. CPH:DOX awarded the strongest documentary films from the six festival program sections.
The awarded documentaries at CPH:DOX 2013 are:
Winner: Bloody Beans Directed by Narimane Mari, Algeria / France
Special mention: Stop the Pounding Heart Directed by Roberto Minervini, USA / Italy
Winner: Dirty Wars Directed by Richard Rowley, USA
Special mention: No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka Directed by Callum Macrae, UK
Spell To Ward Off the Darkness Directed by Ben Rivers and Ben Russell, France/Estonia
Special Mention: Aleksander Directed by Wilhelm and Anka Sasnal, Poland
After You Directed by Marius Dybwad-Brandrud, Sweden
Politiken Audience Award
Everyday Rebellion Directed by Arman and Arash Riahi, Austria / Switzerland
Reel Talent Award
A World Not Ours Directed by Madhi Fleifel, UK/Lebanon/Denmark/United Arab Emirates
In addition to the films awarded at the festival, one project in development was also recognized. CPH:DOX's pitching event CPH:FORUM has collaborated with European Cinema Support Fund, EURIMAGES, to launch a new co-production development award. The winner for this first edition of the 15.000 EURO award is Victor Kossakovsky's project Aquarela.
CPH:DOX has enjoyed the most sold out screening in its history, and therefore will be extended with three days until Wednesday, November 20th, offering screenings of the most popular films.
