Podcast Series on Distributing Documentaries & Non-fiction Programmes
A two-part podcast series on "Distributing Documentaries & Non-fiction Programmes" has recently been published on DocumentaryBusiness.com, a documentary blog hosted by Peter Hamilton Consultants. The series features Ludo Dufour from Amsterdam-based distributor "Off-The-Fence" and presents distribution insights that are relevant to both newcomers and established professionals.
What infrastructure does a distributor provide for filmmakers and producers? At what stage does it make sense for producers to look for a distribution partner? What are the deal-terms that potential platforms are pushing? These and many other questions related to the distribution business are being addressed in a two part podcast series, that is now available on the website of documentary business consultant Peter Hamilton.
Ludo Dufour (MD Sales & Coproductions, Off The Fence, Amsterdam) reveals insights from a distributor's perspective on the mechanics of international distribution and what to consider when aiming for global markets including a variety of different channels and platforms. The podcast is based on a presentation held by Dufour at the NEWF Congress (Nature, Environment & Wildlife Filmmakers Congress) in South Africa earlier this year. The podcasts incl. presentation slides and more information can be found here.
