New Online Section Shows All EDN Members of the Month at a Glance
EDN is delighted to announce the introduction of a new gallery on edn.network featuring all previous EDN Members of the Month in an inviting and compact overview. The monthly interview series was launched in 2011 in order to show both members in the spotlight and the diversity of the EDN membership group.
The very first filmmaker to be interviewed as EDN Member of the Month in August 2011 was Anthony Baxter, producer and director at Montrose Pictures (UK). In this first edition, EDN talked with Baxter about his film You've been Trumped, a documentary about Donald Trump's plan to build a luxury resort and golf course in one of Scotland's most precious nature reserves while causing a stir among local residents, lawyers, the media and government officials. The trouble deepens as one of the residents refuses to sell his property on which Trump plans to build his golf course. It's a story about the balance between environmental conservation and the relentless pressures for more economic development — and of course a film about Donald Trump. Since then, Baxter has produced a sequel entitled You've Been Trumped Too which links the previous events to the election campaign of the now acting President of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
The interviews with the EDN Members of the Month illustrate each member's professional background, the films they have been working on, their road into documentary filmmaking and many other interesting aspects. By doing so, the series provides a more detailed view of each member and helps us get to know the person behind a production company's name or the organizations that we frequently hear and read about.
A New Digital Home for our EDN Members of the Month
Anthony Baxter is one out of more than 50 EDN Members of the Month that EDN has interviewed in almost six years since the first instalment of the series.
"The idea behind launching Member of the Month back in 2011 was to increase the visibility of our members, strengthen the network between them and through the interviews provide information on different aspects of the documentary landscape", says Cecilie Bolvinkel, EDN Network & Partnerships Manager and initiator/editor of the monthly series. "When we now have all the previous EDN members of the month gathered in one section it clearly shows that this mission has proved to be successful and first and foremost that the EDN members are a great and diverse group of people from all parts of the industry. We look forward to highlighting more old and new members in the coming months and years".
The new section and archive allows for accessing all previous EDN Members of the Month according to the year in which the interview had been published. The overview is available via the following link:
