BIDF Extends Its 2015 Industry Programme
This year's edition of the industry programme during the Budapest International Documentary Festival (BIDF) will be extended by a new event highlight called „Magic Cuisine”, taking place from 23-25 September 2015 within the framework of BIDF in Budapest, Hungary.
Filmmakers from various countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, USA, etc.) will come together for three days in order to develop the best “recipe” for their documentary productions. They will be collaborating with five specialists from across the globe in order to streamline and optimize their projects. The ultimate aim of the initiative is to develop truly competitive and marketable BIDF productions throughout the course of the “Magic Cuisine”.
After the preparatory phase, the participants will prove their knowledge and skills in front of a jury of 11 members. The best ones will either be rewarded, or - depending on their preferences - participate in other competitions to be held in other countries without any pre-selection process. Alternatively, they can opt for getting access to financial support for their further work.
For the first time, BIDF organizes a professional forum that is a real break-through in the Hungarian industry with its significance, professionalism and volume. The filmmakers of the 14 chosen projects will participate in a three-day workshop (23-25 September 2015) during which 5 internationally acknowledged tutors and film professionals, respectively, will prepare them for the Pitching Forum taking place on 26 September. During the Pitching Forum, a jury of 11 film professionals (representatives of TV companies, producers, distributors, etc.) evaluate and - in successful cases - even support the presented projects.
The Pitching Forum is open to the public and will be held at the University of Theatre & Film Arts Budapest, Ódry Stage, Vas street.
