Bridging The Gap
Deadline: 5/10 – 2017.
Scottish Documentary Institute (SDI)’s training initiative Bridging the Gap is open to early-career filmmakers from Scotland and Northern Ireland, thanks to the support from Creative Scotland and Northern Ireland Screen. The call for applications will open on Thursday 31st of August and close on Thursday 5th October, with the commissioned films premiering at Edinburgh International Film Festival next June. This year the filmmakers are invited to respond to the theme of LOVE.
CAAM Documentary Fund
Deadline: 11/10 – 2017.
With support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), CAAM provides production funding to independent producers who make engaging Asian American works for public television. Documentaries are eligible for production or post-production funding and must be intended for public television broadcast. Awards typically range between $15,000 and $50,000.

EDN Networking Dinner Leipzig
Deadline: 20/10 – 2017. Event date: October 29, 2017.
EDN is inviting all members, who are present in Leipzig, to join us for our EDN networking dinner. The intention is to have an informal dinner where you can meet other EDN members, network and share a good meal together. This year, the dinner will be joined by the European and Asian participants taking part in the Crossing Borders Workshop and Pitch.

SIMA is an annual international documentary and educational impact media competition + showcase honoring members in the independent film and global humanitarian industries. SIMA champion, promote and exhibit the works of independent filmmakers, activists and change-makers that too often remain overlooked, and provide a springboard for creative media that exemplifies excellence in its potential to inspire change.

Leipzig Networking Days 2017
Deadline: 20/10 – 2017. Event dates: October 27-29, 2017.
The Leipzig Networking Days is the Documentary Campus event at which the projects being developed in our 2017 Masterschool and Crossing Borders programmes, as well as two selected Documentary Campus member projects are being pitched to high profile commissioning editors and distributors from Europe, North America and Asia. Alongside the pitching, the event's agenda includes one-to-one meetings, an eye-opening keynote and panel, a film screening as well as many networking opportunities during the day and at the party at night. Guests are welcome to attend. As a guest, you will gain insight into the profiles of the broadcasters, their programming needs and trends in the international non-fiction market. Moreover, guests have a unique chance to win a surprise pitch and present their own projects in front of distinguished international buyers.
